Mental Capacity Act & Deprivation of Liberty (MCA & DOLS)
The Mental Capacity Act training covers the legal framework for decision-making on behalf of individuals who lack capacity. It includes principles of the Act, assessing capacity, best interests, and the role of the Court Protection. The training also covers the Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards (DoLS) and the importance of person-centered care.
Courses can be delivered at varying levels of complexity dependent on the groups knowledge or role.
This course can also be blended with Safeguarding or any other course.
Best Interest Decisions - exploring the balance between unwise decisions and unsafe decisions, and the relationship between the Mental Capacity Act and Human Rights Act especially with reference to the least restrictive practice necessary.
Trainers delivering MCA/DOLS and Safeguarding Training all have operational experience in implementing measures to safeguard vulnerable persons in a broad array of settings.
